At Running The Extra Miles, we believe runners and active individuals deserve coaching and guidance that actually works — personalized, efficient, and built for long-term performance.
Setbacks, injuries, and plateaus can be frustrating, especially when training or rehab feels rushed or impersonal. That’s why Running The Extra Miles was created: to provide a smarter, intentional approach to rehab-informed coaching and run performance that fits your life and your goals.
Our method combines evidence-informed strength training, run-specific coaching, and recovery strategies to help you move better, build resilience, and perform mile after mile. You’ll learn how to strengthen key muscles, improve movement patterns, and train confidently — without guesswork or wasted time.
We’re not here for quick fixes.
We’re here to help you build a stronger, more capable body that lasts.
Because when runners feel confident and resilient, everything changes.

I’m Dr. Bonnie Wilder — a Doctor of Physical Therapy, run coach, strength coach, and competitive runner. I help runners and active individuals recover, improve performance, and return to the activities they love — stronger and more resilient than before.
As a lifelong athlete and competitive runner, I understand firsthand how frustrating injuries can be. Early in my running career, I faced setbacks that nearly sidelined me entirely. Physical therapy changed everything — and inspired my career.
Today, I specialize in helping runners rebuild strength, improve mobility, and prevent future injuries using smart programming and evidence-informed coaching. My mission is to provide personalized guidance that goes beyond traditional methods so you can train confidently and perform at your best.

I competed in Division I cross country and track & field and continue running competitively today. I’ve completed over 10 half marathons and 5 full marathons, including four World Marathon Majors: New York City, Boston, London, and Chicago.

With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and a background in exercise science, I combine clinical expertise with real-world running experience. I focus on practical strategies that help runners perform safely and efficiently.

My goal is simple: help runners move better, train smarter, and stay injury-free. I provide guidance, personalized programming, and ongoing support so you can continue doing what you love for years to come.
